Fabric

History

Shamoz (Charmeuse) fabric made of silk.

There is a legend about the Chinese emperor’s wife who discovered silk around 2700 BC.

The fabric is known as Fabric of Emperors and is famous for its luxurious look.

Reversible Sequin (Sequence) is made of small ornamental discs.

In 1922 archaeologists discovered King Tutankhamun's (Tut) tomb in Egypt. They found his garments covered in gold sequin-like disks.

Sewing these discs, consequently, made of gold or precious metals onto clothing signified higher social status. 

Jersey Single Knit made of Polyester.

French designer Gabrielle Bonheur "Coco" Chanel introduced knit fabric to the women’s fashion industry in 1916.

It is a great fabric choice due to its multi-functional textile qualities.

Surface

Shamoz has a soft and medium weight.

The fabric has a shiny front side, a dull backside, feels luxurious to the touch, looks expensive accordingly.

Reversible Sequin is an ultra-modern, stylish, and glossy fabric that has two colors in one fabric.

Brushing hands in different directions dynamically change its color.

Jersey Knit has a soft, smooth, and knitted texture.

Less shiny and heavier than viscose or silk jersey, these fabrics have a much smoother drape than Jersey Knit.  

Hold

Shamoz fabric is not slippery has some natural elastically. 

Reversible Sequin stitched flat to the backing fabric and is less likely to fall off.

Polyester Jersey is a very absorbent and naturally breathable fabric. It blends well with other clothing fabrics.

Crease

Shamoz is fairly crease-resistance. 

Reversible Sequin is completely crease-free. 

Jersey Knit has creases after a wash, can easily be ironed out.

Transparency

Shamoz is a breathable fabric that reflects light giving it a shiny appearance.

Reversible Sequin has a natural reflective ability. The fabric dangles and moves easily to catch more light.

Jersey Knit has moisture moisture-wicking abilities, the fabric doesn’t hold water. 

Drape

Shamoz has a beautiful drape, known for its lustrous sheen, nevertheless, easy to carry.

5mm Reversible Sequin gives the fabric more flow and drape than glued or fish-scale sequin fabric.

Jersey Knit is well structured with a nice drape due to its fiber composition.

Stretch

Shamoz has a low stretch-ability, extremely gentle on the skin. The fabric retains its shape well and is relatively flat.

Reversible sequin is not stretchable. Easy to make different shapes and patterns. 

Jersey Knit is a stretchable fabric providing comfort for the wearer. Perfect for clothing that requires movement.

Production

The satin weave technique with crepe twist yarns is used to produce Shamoz and weave fabric threads. 

Ornamental sequin discs are covered with metallic foil sewn on the cloth.

The knitted composition brings the fibers closer together, making Jersey Knit a non-transparent fabric. 

The production is biodegradable, involves sustainable practices, consequently, is environmentally friendly.

Maintenance

Dry Cleaning

Dry cleaning is recommended for the skirt. 

Consequently, it’s the best way to go to maintain the longevity of the skirt.

Hand Wash

The blouse is hand washable. 

Avoid the use of bleach or any other harsh chemicals. Use a mild silk-friendly detergent and fabric conditioner. 

While washing turns the blouse inside out. Soak it in a tub filled with cold water (no more than 20 minutes).

Move it around to let the soap distribute evenly. Carefully squeeze the blouse to remove excess water and rinse. 

Machine Wash

Avoid the use of bleach or any other harsh chemicals. Use a very gentle detergent and select the delicate cycle.

Turn the blouse inside out. 

The water temperature should be cold and the spin is on low. 

Air Drying

Avoid drying it in the dryer. 

Use a flat surface or on a drying rack and allow it to air dry completely. 

Do not wire or use clips as they can create marks on the blouse. 

Stain Wash

In case of spills on the blouse, wash immediately. 

The skirt can be cleaned with a towel without putting much pressure on the spot.

Dry cleaning may require removing greasy stains from the skirt. 

Sun Exposure

Avoid direct sunlight to avoid the deformation of sequins and the fading of the blouse.

Ironing

Do not iron or steam the skirt. Only use a steamer to get creases out of the blouse. 

Ironing the skirt may damage the sequins as it can cause the sequins to warp or get cup-shaped.

Ironing the blouse may require using a thick terry towel on top of the blouse to press and move in the direction of the pile. 

Folding

Avoid folding the skirt.

Hang the skirt in a well-ventilated area after wearing it. 

Folds, creases, and wrinkles, conversely, flatten the pile and are difficult to remove.
