Collar

One-piece notched medium stand collar with wider lapel having small buttonholes.

Neckline

Decollete neckline has deep V curves, and a very low cut in the front to complement wide lapels.

Sleeves

Long push-up sleeve tapered to the wrist so it can be pushed up to stay in place. 

Cuffs

Open wide cut 5 cm (2 inches) long, and 5 cm (2 inches) wide slit at the bottom of both sleeves.

Waistline

The back elasticized waist contains elastic for comfort with waistline seam. 

Belt

Fabric belt 7.6 cm (3 inches) wide with a long node attached to 10 cm (4 inches) wide loops.  

Pockets

Invisible vertical pocket bags are attached to the seam allowances on both sides.

Extra room to hide your essentials.

Buttons

4 Swarovski crystal buttons (Jet Black, size 10MM). 

3 for the dress and 1 extra button come with the pouch for later use. 

Belt Buckle

A biodegradable belt buckle is attached to the wide loops.

The buckle is made of wood (Mustard).

Hooks & Eyes

2 large fancy metal hooks on the loops to match the belt buckle (Golden).

Elastic Waistband

Medium elastic tape looms elastic 5 cm (2 inches) on the front of the dress waistline to support the belt (Black).

History

Satin is initially made from silk during medieval China.

Only worn by royalty, became the chosen fabric of the royal robes because it was expensive. In the 12th century, Italy introduced Satin to western countries.

It was the 14th century, it became popular across the rest of Europe and is still considered a rich and very luxurious fabric.

Surface

Satin Silk has a soft, shiny finish and a lustrous feel.

It has a glossy surface on the front side and a dull surface on the backside.

Since the fabric is slippery in nature, Satin Silk is difficult to sew.

Hold

Satin Silk is highly repellent to moisture, the water glides through the surface of the fabric.

The fabric doesn't attract static elasticity.

Crease

Satin Silk is completely wrinkle and crease-resistant.

The fabric is smooth and falls immediately.

Transparency

Satin Silk is fairly breathable.

The fabric unfolds its charm and pleasing luster making the dress more captive.

Drape

Satin Silk has a beautiful drape.

The fabric weaves create a drape that is perfect for evening wear. 

Stretch

Satin Silk is flexible and elastic.

Consequently, able to be formed around compound curves.

Production

Satin is more of a weaving process rather than a fabric itself.

The production of Satin Silk is biodegradable, involves sustainable practices, consequently, environmentally-friendly.

Hand Wash

Hand washing is highly recommended.

Avoid the use of bleach or any other harsh chemicals.

Use a mild silk-friendly detergent and fabric conditioner.

Soak it in a tub filled with cold water (no more than 20 minutes), and move it around to let the soap distribute evenly. 

Gently press the dress while still wet to remove excess water and rinse. 

Machine Wash

The dress buttons, belt buckle, hooks, and eyes are sensitive to machine wash.

For their longevity, hand washing is highly recommended over machine wash.

In the case of machine wash, avoid the use of bleach or any other harsh chemicals.

Turn the dress inside out. Use a very gentle detergent and select the delicate cycle.

The water temperature should be cold and the spin is on low. 

Dry Cleaning

Dry cleaning is preferable for greasy stains.

Air Drying

Use a flat surface to dry on a clean towel. 

Avoid drying it in the dryer. 

Do not hang or wring, as the dress can lose shape easily.

Shrinking

Satin silk can naturally shrink. The fabric is pre-shrunk before sewing. 

Ironing

Use a steamer to get the creases out. 

Avoid ironing wet dress or spraying to prevent water-stains.

In the case of ironing, let it completely dry. 

Flip the dress inside out and set the iron to low heat. 

Put the thick terry towel or cloth between the silk and the iron.

All you need is a measurement tape. We highly encourage you to take accurate measurements based on your body size.

The objective is to contribute less to environmental waste and avoid the hassle of returning and waiting periods, particularly during the pandemic.

Due to COVID 19, we reserve the right to vary shipping methods to certain destinations.

Buttons & Needles are not responsible for custom or import duties or any other charges related to it. 

If items are ordered internationally from outside the European Union, customs or import duties, and taxes may be incurred once your items reach their destination.

These charges vary from country to country and must be paid by you. Therefore, we advised you to get in touch with your local customs authorities for further details on costs and procedures.

Furthermore, ordered items may be inspected on arrival at port for customs purposes. Thus, we cannot guarantee that the packaging of your ordered items will be free of signs of tampering.

How does the dress fits compare with other fashion brands? 

We optimized our sizes to better fit your body size and measurements. For example, if your size is XXL, you can order XL from us.
